What is a skincare ‘protocol’?
The skincare you use at home is equally, if not more important than any in-clinic treatments you may have. Imagine seeing a personal trainer once per month to improve your fitness, but the rest of the time you eat a high sugar, processed diet and don’t exercise. Of course, you wouldn’t see great results. How you care for your skin is very much the same. Treatments such as chemical peels and microneedling can be amazing options to give your skin quality and appearance a boost however what you are using every day will make the biggest difference overall for most people. A skincare ‘protocol’ is simply a personalised plan of recommended products to use at home, carefully selected to target your individual skin concerns.

What happens during a skincare consultation appointment?
If possible, please don’t wear makeup for your appointment. If you do not feel comfortable with this, it can be removed during the consultation. During a skincare consultation your skin quality and concerns will be assessed and discussed. You will have plenty of opportunity to ask questions and look at various options which may be suitable for you. In most cases, your skincare will be available to take home on the same day. If not it can be shipped direct to your home and most of the time it will arrive within 24-48 hours. You will be sent a summary of your consultation in writing after the appointment in addition to a written advice document explaining exactly how to use your new products and in what order. This makes it very simple to follow and understand your plan. Of course if you have any questions about your recommended products please do not hesitate to get in touch.
How do I order more skincare products?
If you wish to purchase replacement products on your protocol, please contact the clinic and they can be ordered direct to your home. Usually they will be delivered within 48 hours. If you want to try a different product or add something to your regime, please get in touch and this can be discussed directly to confirm suitability.
Can I add products into my existing regime?
Please bring your current skincare regime with you to your consultation appointment. In some instances products can be added in to your existing regime. Please do keep in mind though it can be more effective to start from scratch and it may be advised that your existing products are not suitable to address your current skin concerns.
Can I order my skincare online? I’ve seen ZO Skin Health on Ebay…
Please be very cautious when shopping online for medical grade skincare. As an example, ZO Skin Health can only be sold by authorised retailers in clinics and not via online stores or Ebay. There are a significant number of counterfeit products on the market which could cause significant harm to your skin if purchased and used.
When will I see results from my home skincare plan?
Most people will see improved skin quality within a couple of weeks of starting their new skincare plan however this will vary from person to person and some issues will take a lot longer to improve. If you have a big event coming up such as a wedding, please allow a minimum of 6 months using them. If possible, schedule a consultation as early as possible more than 12 months before to see optimum results.
Can I have a new skincare plan while pregnant?
Pregnancy and nursing safe skincare plans are available. Please do not use any products containing vitamin A (such as retinol) during this time.
Do I have to have treatments in the clinic?
No, excellent results can be achieved by exclusively using home skincare products however in-clinic treatments can enhance these and give your skin that extra boost!
How much do bespoke skincare plans cost?
Of course the price of a skincare plan will vary hugely depending on the concerns being addressed and the products being recommended. As a guide, a basic daily skincare plan that lasts around 4-5 months would cost approximately £250.
